Strait Area Transit will be closed Monday August 1st, 2022.

Services resuming as usual Tuesday August 2nd, 2022.

Enjoy your long weekend!

Nova Scotia has removed the mandatory COVID - 19 restrictions for our province. However, Strait Area Transit transports persons who are a vulnerable population where as a COVID-19 exposure could be a matter of life or death.

Therefore, we feel it is a top priority to put our best preventative measures in place for this reason. This means we will continue to require all that travel with us to continue to wear a mask at all times when in our vehicles.

It is very challenging to maintain social distancing in our industry, and the safety and health of our staff, clients and families are most important.

Management will update when the masking requirements have been lifted.

Thank you for understanding

Happy Canada Day Everyone!

Reminder, Strait Area Transit will be closed Friday, July 1st, 2022.

We will back on the roads Monday, July 4th, 2022 as usual!

Enjoy your long weekend!

After much deliberation, we at Strait Area Transit, have deemed it necessary to adjust our rates in order to keep pace with fuel, maintenance and operating costs. Effective April 11th, 2022, our one-way rate will increase to $7.50.

This change also includes our out of service area, parcel of carriage, accessible taxi (within the Town or Port Hawkesbury), charter and month pass rates. We will be informing all clients at the time of booking of these changes.

This was a tough decision to make, and we understand how it affects our customers. Therefore, we thank you for your ongoing support and trust that these changes will help us continue providing you with inclusive, safe, reliable, and accessible transportation.

As always, we appreciate your local support!

INVERNESS FIXED ROUTE DEPARTURE TIMES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS!

Please call 902-625-1475 or email dispatcher@satbus.ca to secure your seat.

What is the RTA?

The Rural Transportation Association is a non-profit network of community based organizations offering on-the-ground, door-to-door accessible transportation. We support our members and spread the word about accessible transportation in Nova Scotia. Our members provide services to their rural communities in areas that have need.

You can pre-book transportation for medical appointments, work, school, grocery and other shopping, or even to visit friends or relatives. All have accessible vehicles as part of their fleets.

INDIVIDUALS

Rides can be booked by anyone in need of transportation, be it for meetings, appointments, social outings, groceries, shopping, even school or work. Rates, booking policies and services vary by provider. Services offered by RTA members help you and your loved ones live more independent and socially rewarding lives.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Community organizations use our services to arrange transportation for their clients who may not have the ability to access services or attend events. Government departments, local clubs and more, can use our transportation in a riders living area – or even in an area they may be visiting.

GROUP CHARTERS

Group transportation is available from some of our members. Charter services can help take your team to the game, your family to the wedding venue, or any other social group to where you need to go, all together. As policies differ, please check individual web sites for information.
